pretty soon. I need to get back in the woods with my bow. My youngest son killed 2 does, so that makes 3 in the freeezer. I can hold out for a late season trophy with my Duo Flex…:D
Lots of guys hunt the gun season with thier bows, I do too sometimes. But the area we have to hunt here by the house is better served by treating it as a sanctuary during the gun season. We hunt it days 1 and 2 of the season, and then usually just leave it alone. The swamp fills up with refugee deer who are driven off the neighboring property. With 3 in the freezer I don’t NEED to kill anything else. A nice buck will be a luxory.

Roger,
While your rifle season draws to a close, ours here in PA is just opening. I am going out tomorrow to see if I can capitalize on it. I am going to hunt a buddy’s property. It’s small and pretty well developed, but it has a little patch of woods that seems to hold deer. I am hoping the rifle hunters push them towards me and that one offers me a shot. The spot is too close to homes to hunt with a rifle, but far enough to hunt with a bow. Good luck on getting the trophy. Be well.

I hunt public land but there are few gun hunters in my area in fact I havn’t seen any since the first weekend! but I understand the not pushing the deer to other areas! Gun hunting up here will be over by weekend then its back to just bowhunting and no blaze orange! weather is looking good with a little warmup!

Our rifle season ends on the 30th, and then muzzloader starts on the 7th. Thinking about it last night, I am going to take advantage of that gap and get Daisy The Wonder beagle out after bunnies. If we measure our trophies by level of difficulty, a long bow rabbit is tougher than a longbow whitetail 😀
