For those of you who’ve checked Steve Sr.’s post about the new glue-on Tuffheads, I just bought a 3-pack and the photo in the posted webpage doesn’t do them justice. In that shot they look about the dimensions of most other single-blades. In fact this is the longest, narrowest head I’ve ever seen, period. Looks more like a spearhead than a broadhead due to length, and the narrowness makes them look like if I dropped one from waist height on a foot it would go through boot, foot, sole and the floor as well, under it’s own weight. My friend Alex Bugnon grabbed one from the package and easily sluiced a big spot of hair off his forearm. These are indeed “scary sharp” and in my estimation hunting ready. Ed Ashby has some too and says “Yes, they are sharp, but I can get them sharper.” I’m sure he can, but I don’t think I will even try. The price of all these new excellent single-bevels is getting astronomical and since I want everyone to shoot them for elk-sized game, I sure hope single-bevels don’t price themselves out of the market. Right now it appears the best single bevel for the least money is the Tusker Concord (it had been the Brown Bear until the considerable price raise, though now they comes KME sharpened). I no longer count the Grizzly as leader of the pack because of it’s extreme difficulty in sharpening. Anyhow I’m real excited to get these Tuffheads on some sticks and start shooting — I’ll test the 225-grain glue-on Tuffheads both on a wood shaft, and on carbon with a 100-grain steel screw-in adapter. They will project from the back of a bow quiver, they’re so long, but that’s not a big concern to me. Dave

Dave, at 1 1/16″ wide by 3 3/16″ long the Tuffhead is EXACTLY the same dimensions as Harry Elburg’s original 190 grain Grizzly. The dimensions of the 190 Grizzly got changed after Harry sold the company. I still have several of those original Elburg broadheads and I consider them to be the best Grizzly BH’s ever made. That’s one big plus for the Tuffhead; no doubt it has the right profile!
For most folks (who don’t have them living in their yard) an elk hunt is usually a costly affair. The cost of using a great broadhead is a small expense when considered against the total cost of the hunt, and will look like a bargan to anyone who ends up hitting an elk with less than ‘enough arrow’.

😯 It’s a bit spooky that it might actually pierce the soul. 😆

Another good reason to not leave one’s sole just lying around. -
Couldnt stand it so got some ordered too.
Glad to see you like them, David. That in itself tells us tons.
Price wise, I figure that about everything I want is more than I want to pay but Ive heads here Ive had for going on 20 years (or more?) so……eh.
I just tell myself that they “will be more later” to justify it in these hard times. Half dozen should last me my remaining years (hoping for another 20, lol).
Lots MORE expensive heads around and even some that some shoot that take MORE money from the pocket replacing blades so like all good trad heads, you only pay for these once and you’re done spending money on them. I’m ok with that.
Probably better DEALS around. Again the ACE comes to mind but….gotta love em!!
God Bless

Patrick and Bruce — what the heck are you two talking about? You must have misread! I don’t see any such alleged error!
Go back and read again. You two are either drunk or have gone utterly insane. Maybe both. -

Correlation does not necessarily equal causation, my dear Dr. Petersen.
