Well my supervisor and friend at my morning job, asked if he could come over and give the traditional thing a try 🙄

I said, Dan I am more than willing to have you come over after you get off work this morning, and so he showed up. I showed him the proper way to string a longbow, not using the step thru method but with a stringer. I put Dan at 5 yards, and showed him how to hold my BamaBow Hunter, and then put my arm guard on him, put the finger tab on him, and showed him the proper way to nock the arrow with the index feather out. Dan was a bit nervis, but caught on and pictured below is from his first group. With a few other groups blew one of my feathers off of the Easton 2018’s which I gave him as a reminder of just how much fun he was having.

Dan then asked me if there was a catalog that he could get, so I had him call the number for 3Rivers right there on the spot for a catalog to be sent to his house. Heck, they even asked him who refered him to them.

Now, he is going to get his money together and call Nate with BamaBows, and order a new longbow for himself. :P:P:P

Looks like you have a new hunting buddy! Was he a training wheeler before, or is this his first time with archery of any kind?

He had tested a modern BowTech but did not like all the extra cost associated with buying a bare modern bow. His girlfriend had told him, look if your going to get into archery/bowhunting, at least get into the real traditional kind 🙄 She was dead set against him buying a modern bow, and well now I think he will have her full blessings.

Its funny how putting one in their hands, and having them shoot and see results, encourages getting into Traditional longbows or recurves. Dan was stoked that my bows are longbows.

It just so happens the Bear Kodiak that I was using, I had to return to our Fish Wildlife and Parks Bowhunters Ed program yesterday.
