I live in a subdivision, although I am on the last street, and my backyard buts up to a pond, and about 30 acres of swamp. Beyond the swamp is a horse farm, and a small farm with about 10 acres planted. We see critters all the time, pheasants, rabbits, and recently a fox moved into the berm seperating my yard from the pond. The occasional coyote comes through, and every once in awhile we have deer pass by. I’m 5 minutes away from some pretty good farmland hunting, 30 minutes away from some GREAT big woods hunting.

Well, yesterday afternoon I’m sitting on my couch, and my beagle, Daisy, goes ape $###!. I look up, and 10 feet from my patio window is one of the bigger bucks I have ever seen in Michigan. Still in velvet, all of 10 eventual points. I go for the camera…..no memory card, damn. As I stare at the buck….and he stares at my crazy assed dog, ANOTHER buck comes out of the swamp. Bigger than the first!! Son of a gun. 2 huge bucks, in a spot I can never hunt them….oh well. Beats watching rabbits.:D

They don’t get big by being stupid. 🙂 Biggest buck I’ve seen in NH was walking down our driveway, here in the yard I call the Evergreen Valley Road Deer Sanctuary.

Well shucks, you’re lucky, all we get here is bears, and they only come at night, which ain’t much fun at all from a watching point of view.
