What do you use to glue your tie on nocks to the bowstring?

I tie my nock-set to the string using the knot described in this video:

To keep it from slipping, I use a smaller string than I use to serve the bow.  So I generally serve the string with a 0.21″ diameter serving and tie the nock-set with 0.18″ diameter serving.  Sometimes I just use left over string material.  I wax the entire length of string before beginning to tie the knot.  The wax helps get a tight knot, and seems to help lock the knot to the string.

That said, if it does slip I wrap the serving above the knot with some ordinary button thread and put a dab of titebond glue on it.

Steve, I’m a three under shooter and use two nocking points . It’s the bottom nock that is moving down on me. One thing for sure, I’m done with brass nock’s! Much cleaner release and quieter too!! I’ll try the thread trick, thank you!!! I think I’ll see if a constrictor knot will work for now , in case I want to adjust it .

I like this adjustable knot.  I put one above and one below then both can be moved as I tune my bow.

That’s a nice knot too Ralph!

Skinner don’t forget that when you draw the bow, the double nock-sets are closer together than when the bow is at brace.  So you need to set them so that the arrow nock is loose between them when the bow is at rest.  Otherwise one of the nock-sets has to slip as the bow comes to full draw.

Shoulda ‘thunk’ to mention that…Thanks Steve…………..

On shorter bows, which will have a more acute angle at the draw point, I sometimes put the “nail knot” and the “clinch knot” above the nock just to help keep things from slipping and one or the other below also.  I use both knots.. Really no preference.

I’m not (bout to be enough knot-nots here?) one of the elite archers where the one foot per second an extra knot might slow my arrow speed down is a worry.  I’d rather my “rear site” be where it oughta be.

Curious, you go by Steph or Steve for short?

Probably best I don’t hear what people call me for short.. ;-))

I was planning a trip to Leedey, OK tomorrow but since it’s 186 miles each way, 80-90% forecast rain, it be a bit far to go say hi and shoot maybe one round of 3D , score cards in by 2PM, and drive home.

Today I could go but having company passing through and I’m having pain pangs for 16 yr old gson that had his wisdom teeth remove yesterday.. Ouch.
