It was a downright tropical 38F outside today. Time to throw some blunts on the target arrows and go look for hares.
Snow was pretty deep if we got off the trail, but the xc skiers left us a nice, packed track to walk.
Recent moose trail:
Listening to something large moving through the forest:
Saw lots of tracks criss-crossing the snow, but alas, the hares were well hidden today:
Maiden voyage of the new Bison Gear “outfitter” pack. Conclusion? Love it.
While no bunnies were harmed in the making of this thread, it was a fine February afternoon hike. I love getting out this time of year, if only for the stories you find written in the snow.

Wahoo –
The bow on the l. is a Bear Super Grizzly, and the one on the right is a Kanati hybrid.

Ha. Yeah, wasn’t quite ready to drag the Robertson through the snow yet. And I want to practice more with the Kanati as well. It’s a really cool little bow, I just need more time with it.
That Super Grizz is a really fun bow to shoot!

Really neat pictures of your day out and about,Bruce! Kinda reminds me of the last couple days of deer hunting this past week. Seen a few deer but no shots…. By the way,I got that Robertson bow and have shot a couple hundred arrows out of it. It’s an older bow called a ‘Purist’, not of the Stykbow era as I first believed. I’m really starting to get used to the 58# draw weight and I dug up some cedars that are spined perfectly for her. Considering the possibility of making it my primary bow for next season. Wayne 🙄

Thanks for showing these nice photos. They make a great story. I’d love to see some rabbits, but they’re hard to come by around here these days. dwc
