I was shooting my old Ben Pearson recurve with my wooden arrows from RMS gear today at the range and a group of young people got very interested in my traditional gear. They were all shooting compounds and that’s all they had ever shot…it was lots of fun to teach them about what we do.

Range at a shop?
Did you let them shoot your bow?
How’d your arrows hold up?
Look out, you’ll have a bunch of young’uns hanging around using up your stuff, asking to shoot, wanting advice and freebies. You’ll feel sorry for how sweaty they look and next thing you’ll be giving them lemonade and sandwiches. You’ll never hear the end of it.

Always good to hear about someone spreading the word, well done Crich.
I’m sure you will soon be overwhelmed with tokens of their appreciatio, maybe coffee and cookies.

Oh yeah, they had to shoot the Pearson and the wood arrows, they had fun….the range is at a really nice bow shop. Sometimes I shoot at my farm, but it’s so wet lately I don’t want to be standing in foot deep gumbo mud..
I told the teens to think about traditional, it’s fun. The owner brought out some Samick Sage bows that he had and let them look at them.
On an aside, something I may look at is ordering one of those older Browning short recurves, like the Nomad from RMS..I had a new one back in the early 80s and loved it.
