Question; Is the Fred Bear Sports Club still around or did it go the way of Grayling  & the Museum ?????

          Richard

I looked around a bit. Apparently it went away in 2003 owned by Bass pro . Some other individuals tried to resurrect it, but got into legal squabbles ( trademark/ name? ) and it never got set back up…..

            Ok, …………… Thanx.

Kind of a pity, the museum & the club being gone.  The P&Y museum in Seattle, too.

The Bass Pro in Springfield, Mo has a lot of the memorabilia set up on display.  It a real good history display.

My youngest daughter was kind of amazed at the number people I told her I had met in some of the photos.

This started when I scored a 1st edition Fred Bear’s World Of Archery on eBay to add to my library. It just seems like more and more of today’s archers are forgetting our history.  I’ve mentioned to compound shooters that I bought my first few compounds off of Tom Jennings himself and just got a blank look & a ….. ‘Who??’  Kind of sad.  People are forgetting the sheer joy of launching an arrow at something on the next hillside just to see if you can hit it.

                End of rant.

I’ll have to try that!  It sounds rather like trying to hit the broad side of a barn…. Hitting the hillside, that is!  :>)
