It’s a sad day here as we learned that Fred Asbell passed away last night. He was such a huge influence on T.J., and many, many more people in traditional archery. His wife, Teresa, was with him and he died peacefully after about two weeks in the hospital. Please keep her in your prayers, if you are so inclined. There won’t be a service as he wanted people to remember him as he was in life. We’ll probably see several memorial services by groups who want to remember him.

Sad news, indeed.
I didn’t always agree with everything that Fred wrote but I always respected him. Hopefully, his memory will live on in those he influenced.

A sad day for us indeed. I always enjoyed Fred’s books and articles.
Fred lived his good life on his own terms, and left a fine mark. What more could be wanted? I raise my cup to Fred. Salute!

G. Fred Asbell was one of the most influential people on my traditional bowhunting journey.
Prayers of peace and healing for his family and close friends.
Prayers of remembrance for the traditional bowhunting community.
Prayers of courage and light for Fred as he begins his journey in the great beyond.
Thanks for everything Mr. Asbell!
