I’m going to buying a Fletcher soon and wonder what you guys recommend. I’ve always used a Bitzenberger, but they’re so expensive. Since it’ll be a one time purchase, I can live with it, but if there is something better, ESPECIALLY, if for less, I’d rather go that route. Thanks

Patrick,
I’ve got one of the plastic jobs that I bought in the mid 80’s and it still works great. The only problem I’ve had with it is occasionally I have to glue the steel plate that sticks to the magnet back in place. If I were to drop some major cash on one I’d go with the Jo-Jan 6 fletch deal and fletch 6 at a time!

J (nice hat!) — I’ve had a Bohning ballistic plastic jig for years without a moment’s problem. Think it was around $40 but that’s been a while. Since I enjoy the slow relaxed job of fletching arrors — stick a feather on and forget about it for 20 minutes, then aother, so’s only one an hour comes out — I’m perfeckly happy with the one-sticker. Unless i run it over with the truck I expect it to last my lifetime, especially since I’m a smoker! 😀 bb

I give another vote for the Jo-Jan. They are expensive, but very adjustable, durable, and you can get 6 arrows done precisely and quickly. I have 2 of them. 1 with straight clamps, one with helical clamps. The straight clamps are great for grinding feathers down on the belt sander.

I think I have the one snuffornot does. Its a BPE and yes sometimes the back metal plate falls off but superglue works for another few yrs or so. mines about 20 yrs old also and still works great. 3rivers has em.

I bought a single shaft Blitzenberger with 2 sets of clamps-straight & helical. IMO, it’s all you need. By the time you prep the next feather, the one in the clamp has set & you can put the next one on.
