I like the looks of Tammy Jo’s website for flemishbowstrings.com.

Have you had experience with this site/product?

I am not interested in flaming so if you have negative comments feel free to PM me about that.

I need a new string for my 1991 vintage Damon Howatt Hunter 50# recurve and thought I might give this provider a try.

Doesn’t look bad no real experience with them I usually get my strings form rmsgear.com and have been very happy with theirs.

For the most part a string is a string. It’s the material you choose far more than the maker. That said, in our little trad world, I will always go with a “custom” maker, that is Ma or Pa, rather than a big supplier where you have no idea where they get the stuff they sell. Aside from having a name, face and reputation to associate with the products, it has always struck me as the right thing to do in our minority situation … support the little guys and gals who support us and us only. IMO …

Well, I ordered from Tammy Jo on-line. The site was easy to navigate and use. I received a prompt “order received” confirmation.

I will let you know how it all works out.

I have used this vendor with good results.

It has been a few days since the new string arrived and I have had plenty of time to get it settled in on my 50# Howatt Hunter (1991 vintage). This B50 Flemish string stretched a little over the first several dozen arrows but not much at all after a day or two. Workmanship is great, well waxed and shoots nicely. I am happy.

Now if I could just sneak in close enough for a shot at the local elk…
