That’s right. I whiffed on a big doe this morning at five yards.
I was sitting in a nasty pine/briar thicket where I could only see about twenty yards but I ended up seeing four. Got a chip shot on a big old doe at five yards.
I was basically planning on where to field dress her, when my arrow hit a limb about three feet in front of me and harmlessly stuck between her legs. I think the fletchings actually brushed her chest. The only thing I could do was laugh. I’ve been due for a good miss for two years, and now I’ve done it.:D
Thankfully, the tree shark did, in fact, remove that hurtful tulip poplar limb for me

There are easier ways to clear shooting lanes ! haha
I once watched a sure thing arrow hit a steel fence post 6 feet in front of a deer. Didn’t see it as it was lined up with the front leg. “CLANG” Sparks flew everywhere!!
Turned my aluminum arrow into a pretzel.
Kudos on getting in to 5 yards though! That alone is quite a feat!!

Thanks. It was funny too because there was no way to hunt this place but on the tiny pines so the highest I could get was 12 feet. She came directly to my right and got directly underneath the tree. I let her get about 12-15 feet past the stand when I bluffed on her.
