Well I just got my first recurve last night from the local bow shop a Martin Jaguar Takedown camo pattern at 40#’s this is my first bow of any kind. I was wondering if anyone had any sugestions on what i should start looking to buy as far as tools, equipment, or any other things that might help me geting started in archery.( number of arrows, heads, targets, tools stuff like that) Thank You all as always.

I would recommend getting one or both of the following books:
A Beginner’s Guide to Traditional Archery by Brian J. Sorrells, or The Traditional Bowhunter’s Handbook by T.J. Conrads. Either one of these titles will steer you in the right direction, and will be able to answer most if not all of your questions a heck of alot faster than I can (took me damn near 5 minutes to type this post):D.

I’ll second the recommendation for books. I bought The Traditional Bowyers Handbook early on when starting archery and it brought me up to speed pretty quickly.
And speaking from personal experience, especially of late, it never seems like you can have enough arrows.

Book by Brian J. Sorrells popular in Russia … We recommend it for beginners, too. 😀

I started this archery stuff about 3 1/2 years ago in addition to the books already mentioned I would also recommend the following;Timeless Bowhunting,by Roy S Marlow.Instinctive Shooting by G. Fred Asbell, and also the Bowhunters Encyclopedia By Dwight Schuh . The last book I found used through Amazon on line . The rest I think I purchased from 3-R .Hope this helps
