My latest acquisition: A 1962 Bear Kodiak Magnum that somone had drilled a single hole in the belly glass to use an arrow holder. I’m in the process of filling that, and cleaning the bow….it will need an arrow rest and plate and that’s about it. Brazilian Rosewood I-Beam riser, Bear’s Bark Gray glass over maple limbs. The tip overlays are the same as riser..Bark Gray and white. Will put some arrows through it this weekend and will post completed photos next week some time. Click on the photo for slide show.

Well it actually had an ugly upper limb twist, but I took care of that with some hot water and judicious bending 8^). Now it’s in rehab, relearning how it’s supposed to behave.

The 62 Kodiak Magnum was the first “quality” recurve I ever shot; it belonged to a friend I worked with and he is the one who got me into bowhunting in 1965. I couldn’t afford a KM back then so I bought an Alaskan. Always had fond memories of that little critter though.
