My brother has a 35#(?),63″ recurve fiberglass bow from the 1960’s. It has no markings but he thinks it was a Shakespeare. It is in excellent shape. Does anyone know if it safe to shoot? Does fiberglass deteriorate with time?

Check it for cracks and splits. String it and flex it, looking for more splits. I still use a Bear “Green Fox” to teach kids how to shoot…nearly indestructible bows!

If it has a white plastic handle with dual shelves, and static tips, I have one too! Yup, they are virtually indestructible if you treat’em right.
