        Questions for the gurus:

When shooting from un-even ground, how do the “pros” place their legs and feet?
Do you lock the downhill knee?
Does a more open stance work better when shooting uphill, etc.?

Yes, it is a serious question and I ask for serious, thoughtful answers.

        Thanks for your time,
        Konrad

I have found that it helps to practice on uneven ground so that you can figure out what works best for you. Personally, I bend both knees a bit so that I can keep my shoulders level and in-line with the target. That way I don’t need to worry about keeping either leg locked out as you had asked.

Konrad — I am no archery guru … more like a perpetual new-new. If your questions refers to target archery, I’d say whatever works. It’s easy and fun to experiment and find out your best stance in different situations. If for hunting, I do most of my practice kneeling or sitting, as that is how I almost always am positioned for shots on game. Sorry we seem short of guru’s here. Where is Mr. Ferguson when we need him? dp
