I tried to log on today and, to my coffee starved brain, it seemed that Trad Bow gave me my first insult of the day. “Expired Membership”! It took a while to get through it and back. Here are my comments on the process…
1. If I try to log in and get the “expired membership” notice, there is no option for the free limited membership. Only the credit card 20 dollar membership.
2. If I when directly to the “membership expired?” button and renewed my account there, It wouldn’t let me change my email address. My email address has changed. But I had to use my old one to get my membership to renew. Otherwise I got a message telling me I can’t change email addresses.
3. Sure would be nice if there was a warning, like “Hello valued member of our forum, Your membership is going to expire in 10 days. Would you like to renew it now?”
I thought I would make this a topic in case others had similar experiences and could add to this to help Robin improve the site.

I agree with Steve. We don’t want to lose any of our exceptional members, like Steve and even that sourpuss Patrick 😈 due to unnecessary admin hurdles. I’m betting the morning won’t pass before Robin is on the job to address this valid heads-up. I don’t understand why a standard (free) membership ever has to be renewed at all?? Let’s make it easy and predictable as possible for computer idjuts like me! Bloodless

Mornin’ all. Steve, thanks for the suggestions and I am sorry for the frustration. I will look at ways to improve that process.
You were sent a renewal notice 14 days before it expired, but as you stated, your email address had changed. The reminder gives you a link to whatever type of account you had before. If you were a Premium Member it directs you to renew as a Premium Member. If you were a Free Member you get the form for that. I will look at the actual expired message to see what I can do there.
Any time you need to update your contact info on Tradbow.com please use the link called Your Account under Resources. You can use it now to change your email address to the correct one. The renewal requires that your user name, password and email address all match. I can’t change that. I can put a longer expiration on the free memberships but I have to put something in that field so the problem comes up eventually. And you wouldn’t believe how many accounts we have that are never used. I know that you guys would never abandon us, but looking at the big picture, the expirations keep us from paying for accounts that aren’t active.
Most of you know my email is always on. Any time you have a problem, or if you just don’t want to mess with this system, just shoot me a quick email and I will make all the changes for you. Same goes if you call the toll-free number and ask Jillian to help you. We really do appreciate all of our customers and we’d be happy to help you avoid frustration. Now I’ll go see what I can do about some of these issues…
