Thanks but those are the links I have and you just get last years schedule and any attempt to click contact us results in error on that page. Not sure if you all are going to be represented this year–but to be frank the website is frustrating–perhaps you have a contact our phone number you can share. Just don’t want to spend 4 hours on the road for my second vacation from the dogs in 4 years and find I’m in the wrong place and time.

Mike, I hope you enjoy your vacation. I did see that Monty Browning will be the guest speaker, but I didn’t see any other seminars. I sent a message through their Facebook page. I’ll let you know if/when I hear anything. There are two phone numbers on the Archery Festivals site. Did you try those? 814-435-6653 or 814-274-8059.
Larry and Belinda Fischer will be there again this year, representing Traditional Bowhunter Magazine. Stop in and say hello.

It would almost be worth the cost and effort of the trip just to be a fly on the wall where Alex and Col. Mike are at the same time. Esp. if Mike has his infamous jug of high-end Scotch (I never used to think I liked Scotch, until Mike taught me I’d never before had “real” Scotch). If we could get AusJim, Smithhammer and a few other Resident Tradbow Comedians there too, well damn I’d just have to come. And who was that guy who wore funny hats and was our lead comic in the early days and disappeared unceremoniously for a very long time then showed up again not long ago, for maybe two days and dropped off the flat earth again? Can’t quite grab his name out of the old cobby skull … how soon celebrity is forgot. :P:lol:

JM–As my good friend said–I will be there looking forward to meeting you.
Dave you will be missed—not sure Alex is sophisticated enough for THAT scotch.:D Ha can you believe he sent me a text message today:shock: Young folks!
After action report to follow next week.

Aye – ’tis a motley crew we have, ain’t it? Somehow, the conclave described above needs to happen at some point…

I was able to get to ETAR this year but just for a day. I went yesterday and it was a blast. The weather was outstanding and made for a great time shooting the course on top of the mountain (a hill to you boys by in the Rockies). It is a 3 hour trip to Coudersport from my house so I hit the road at 0500 hrs. As I entered the northern counties of Pennsylvanian I began to see numerous Elk. It was a nice sight to look into field off the roadway and see nice groups of them. I also saw countless deer and a black bear on a bank of a creek. I arrived at ETAR a little after 0800 hrs and met up with a good friend that was camping there with his family. We took off for one of the lower 3D course straight away. When we finished we went back to his camp sight and picked up his daughter to go shoot a course on top the mountain. We rode the ski lift up and then shot our way down. It took an hour or so and it was already time for lunch. I made some deer meatloaf for the trip and enjoyed and tasty sandwich. After some coffee and some of the best cookies I ever had we went to the vendor tents. We looked at the bows, gear, and clothing. There was a lot of great stuff. I picked up a Helle Fjellbekk knife which really looks and feels like a solid knife. I am planning on starting to quarter my deer in the woods this year to get some practice for an eventual elk outing in a few years. We then went to shoot again but the ski lift was down so we went to cardiac ridge shoot. It was up hill most of the way and for me the best course to shoot. I liked getting the heart beating and sucking wind and then shooting. I did well which pleased me. When we finished the ski lift was running again so we hoped on it and shoot one more course from the top. When we finished up we headed back to camp and I finished off my meatloaf for dinner. I head home at about 1930. On the way home I stopped at an elk viewing area and saw 7 giant bulls in velvet. The elk here are rigorously managed and limitedly hunted so the bulls get monstrous. I then head south again and had a small 2 year old bear lumber across the road in front of me. It was a great day and I and hoping I can stay a night next year.
I kept an eye out for Col. Mike and Alex. I counted coup on the Colonel’s car but since I had no idea what he looked like I never found him. However, after seeing Dave’s picture of the Colonel at the shoot I did in fact see him. I was on my way to the ski lifts the second time when they weren’t working and I saw him standing by the lodge. It was just a passing glance but the way he wore his hat stood out (not many guys do the hat grease unless they are military).
Over all a great day trip. Sorry for not opening my mouth and saying hi to you Mike…I know what you look like now…next year!

Glad to hear it was a good time! I’ve only been shooting trad exclusively and seriously for the past year, and have always heard of the Denton Hill shoot but never realized how big it actually was. I only live about an hour to an hour and a half away, so I’m gonna head out just for sunday. Busy weekend but I’m gonna try and leave around 7:00 am to get there with enough time to shoot a few courses before they close down.
I’ll have to keep an eye out for some of you seasoned TB members. 8)
Have fun to all who are there or are going!
