I haven’t really been a big fan of bow quivers in the past – the one’s I’ve tried just seemed too bulky and heavy and made my bow feel lopsided. But for hunting where I do, back/hip quivers are forever getting caught on things and are a general pain in the @$$. In addition, wearing a pack, plus binos w/a chest harness and then a quiver over my back/shoulder is just too much crap around my neck/back and drives me crazy. So I’ve been on the lookout for a bow quiver that I can live with, and that will work on my bows that don’t have inserts, which is most of them.
I recently bought an Eagle’s Flight ‘Cherokee’ quiver, since the price wasn’t as crazy expensive as some others, and I’d heard good things about them. Now that I have it on my bow and have hunted with it, all I can say is that it’s changed my opinion on bow quivers forever. It’s very light, hold 4 arrows, which is plenty for me for a day of hunting, doesn’t budge one millimeter once it’s on my bow and it’s really well made, with easily replaceable parts.
Here it is on my Savannah:
Forgive my blatant product plug, but every now and then you come across a piece of equipment that is a game changer. Couldn’t be happier with my Eagle’s Flight.

Smithhammer –
I have always been a bowquiver individual for the reasons you mentioned in your post. I stumbled on the Eagles flight quiver a year ago and now own 3. obviously I really like em. They are holding up great and easy to get parts for [foam]-as per your remarks.
Small & Light -easy to carry.

Looks like the perfect quiver for a selfbow or other light, skinny bow.

Yes —
I have one on my Shrew Classic Hunter – works well

I had one. I really liked everything about it except the straps. The non-sticky rubber was not gripping the limbs tightly enough and the quiver always slid down the limbs, to the point that I had to duct tape the thing to my bow.

Hmm, maybe they’ve changed the straps/rubber. Mine feels as secure as a bolt-on and doesn’t move at all (maybe even more so since the bolts were always loosening).

If you say so, I shall try again then, because they are cool quivers!!!

Alex-
I have them on Shrews and Centaurs [ r/d LB ]leave them on the bows and shoot everyday. I had one loosen slightly, but I tightened it back up and has held since. I put em on real tight!. Maybe as Smithhammer said they have revamped them.
They are working for me. As long as they did not loosen over a month or so Hunting / shooting I would still be happy as they are easy to retighten. I also put the straps close together completely off the working limbs [really on the riser just above the fadeout]. you need to get the shortest brace [ they will make what ever length you need. I find the model that comes without the bar/brace to work fine and it fits anybow — no matter how short. my one critique- I would prefer the rubber clamp part to be slightly longer and reach the opposite side of the bow, probably make it even more secure.

I just went to their site. You guys are right, they revamped the straps. I bought mine 5-6 years ago and it didn’t have any buckle. Just a velcro flap on bow backside that you had to pull to the belly side.
Cool! Thanks Hammer and Scout

Alex-
If you decide to get one for your Shrew – I would suggest calling the folks at eagle flight and ordering the brace they have for those bows and/or measuring the distance between [ straps] where you want to place them on the Bow.
You get the best fit that way, especially on the short riser of the Shrew [ worked for me anyhow, it is what i did for mine ]

AlexYup, the buckle really allows you to crank it down tight and secure.

I have a couple of their quivers. They are light weight but offer just the right amount of balance for my Super Shrew and my selfbows.
I am now lusting for one of the snakeskin trimmed models. I’ve heard they might take your old hood in trade on upgraded hoods. The gripper end is the same.Duncan

I have one – Copperhead{ matches a Centaur copperhead backed bow} it is nicely done. The people who run the Outfit are very friendly and accommodating — I enjoy doing business with them.

Got one a few years back with the the cinch down straps and works great. Only time it loosend up was when I shot about a hundred arrows with it on, and I retightend it down real tight and it was fine. I like mine because it is light and and unobtrusive.8) Wayne
