Dumb arrow length question

This may seem dumb, and REAL fundamental, BUT….how do YOU measure arrow length?? 😳 🙄 ❓

I’ve been told from end to end of shaft but I’ve ALSO been told from end of shaft at insert to the bottom of the nock, meaning the spot where the string would contact the nock when arrow is placed on the string….

Which is it OR does it even matter as long as you are consistent:?:

Deepest part of the nock to the shoulder of the head.

Add 3/4″ for the head taper and you’re all set.
