I just got a new to me bow (it is becoming an addiction). It is a Pearson Old Ben longbow. My handy new draw scale tells me it draws 52# to my anchor point. I had my wife mark a shaft for me to determine the draw length and it came to 26 inches. I found this really odd because I normally draw 28 inches. In fact I have another bow (Indian Archery Seneca recurve, 45#) that I draw 28 inches.
Why are my draw lengths different on these bows? I drew them both multiple times to make sure it was not something in my technique. The area from the inside of the grip to the outer part of the bow looks to be about the same. It does not make sense to me.
Anybody else seen this or have this issue? Am I doing something wrong?
