Dave, not sure if you recall my posting from last week about ordering the Great Northern Field Bow. Anyways, I need your advice. After shooting dozens of arrows down range yesterday and today, I’ve noticed a small crack has developed in the osage riser. It hasn’t broke through the finish however. I plan to call Jerry tomorrow about sending it back to get fixed. The sad part is I love this bow! Shooting it as good, maybe a shade better, than my Bear recurve. You seem to know Jerry pretty well, will he take good care of me?

I’m happy to report problem solved! Just got off the phone with Jerry at Great Northern. The small crack in the riser was a flaw that he noticed while building the bow. It’s all sealed up and only a visual flaw now. Being the nice guy he is, Jerry offered to make me a new bow if cosmetically it bothered me. Told him no–I’m enjoying the bow too much. Already spoke with him about ordering one of his Lil’ Creep bows later this year. A class act and I’ve become an (unoffical of course) spokesman for Great Northern! 😀

Sorry I’m late checking in — we’re gotten nearly 2′ snow over the weekend, whoopee!
Yes, I would expect Jerry, or any other honest businessman, to take good care of you. However, a visually flawed bow won’t help it’s resale value and I do think you deserve some sort of recompense. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jerry keeps that in mind with your next bow order. I really don’t know him that well–we’ve talked at Kzoo a couple of times, and recently on the phone–but have shot his bows and like them and have never heard anything negative about him from anyone. Specifically, it’s the Field Bow I’ve bragged up in the past for being the most bow for the least money I’m aware of, so long as the lower poundages work OK. Glad you’re enjoying it.

Thanks for the comments Dave. Yes, the Field Bow is absolutely the most bow for the money that I know of. Going to spend all spring shooting it and them maybe order the Lil’ Creep over the summer. Sorry to hear about the snow out there. 🙁
