So I ordered some parabolic fletchings and meant to order shields. Can I just cut the last 8th of an inch off the parabolics at an angle to turn them into shields? This seems obvious to me but maybe Im missing something.

I’ve done it. Modified lots of pre-cut feathers for various reasons. Seem to work fine for me.

I bet through time there’s been a million personal cut feathers used. :wink

I usually order 5″ when I order pre-cuts then use my choppers to modify to 4″ or 3″ or whatever. That way I can play with one order of 100 feathers.

Sure can. I’ve done it to make shorter feathers and I’ve done it because they were the ones on sale. dwc
