I recently bought a vintage Bear “Black Bear” bow on eBay and found that the limbs are twisted beyond repair. I originally thought I’d just hang it on the wall and chalk it up as a lesson learned, but have since had a crazy(?) idea. Would it be possible or viable to cut off the limbs and shape the riser into a take-down riser and just get new limbs for it? If so, how would be the best way to go about it? Any comments, questions, concerns, or chastising for this idea of mine, is more than welcome!

Unless you have built a baot load of bows your asking for more trouble than I think you want. Trying to match limbs to a wildcat riser is super tough.

Why not use it as a templet and just build a new bow with that design design. Building a form from an existing bow and building a new bow on that form would be easier than trying to find limbs that would work with a makeshift riser.

Seen a table lamp made out of broken bow limbs looked very cool.
