Anybody ever try to resharpen their bowfishing points? Bought 6 of ’em yesterday (Muzzy gar point replacements) at Sportsmans and they want 1.50 a piece for them. Seems a shame just to throw them away when they get dull.

Often also wondered if i should cut the fiberglass arrows to length or just use them long. I’m thinking that i’ll get better water penetration with more weight, but would like to hear others comments on it.?

Don’t over think it. Just go.

Bowfishing is stinky hot mucky slimy fun. Don’t spend too much time dooding up your gear. Leave the arrows alone. No need to sharpen anything but the actual point. Use a file.

Hardest part is finding a good place to go. Once that’s done, nothing left to do but make a mess. If you have a garden, it will love the fish.

Thks. Steve. I’ve been bowfishing for many years just never thought about the 2 points i brought up. Appreciate your comments.

Actually, in case anybody wants to know i’ve been putting some fairly sharp points back onto my rock-worn Muzzy points with a Dremel tool.
