I used corn for bait one season years ago after it was legalized on private land. It did not seem to increase my chances at a buck but there seemed to be alot of does and lots of yearlings on it. Then doe shooting was limited but today everything is legal starting on opening day so it may offer more opportunity now. The cons were having to constantly go into the area to replenish the corn supply. Seemed to be more work than it was worth and an extra expense too. So I have never used bait since. Maybe I could claim more kills if I had continued using it but to me it has been more fun to find what nature provides and hunt over that. But I don’t fault anyone that uses it if it is legal. For hogs, those are feral anyway, I’d say use it on them unless you want more challenge in stalking them.

No slightintended to anyone, but you asked for opinions, so a negative opinion is as valid as a positive opinion (in case our Beloved Webmother is listening). Baiting Is Not Hunting. It is waiting on stand and it is making a shot (set up in our favor). But baiting is not hunting and I for one would love to see it outlawed in every form, everywhere. Just one Hunter’s opinion.

In TX it can be required on some leases, I wish they would outlaw it here. Then, since you have to pay to play in TX. lease costs would decrease substantially. Hunting leases in TX can get as high as $6-8K per person in S TX. but average $2-3K per year.
