I got my hands on a 1″x4″x5′ Cocobolo board today (for free…awsome) I plan to use it in my handle in my upcoming bow project but just a curious question. Where does cocobolo come from?? I was thinking it was from South America but wasen’t for sure.

Yes, it comes from Central America Cody. For a really lusterious finish try rubbinbg cooking oil into it like a polish.

Here is the handle of my reverse handle Northern Mist bow, handle was refinished with just some sanding and cooking oil polished in.

My Northern Mist Baraga has a Cocobolo riser too, and it’s a beauty with the contrasting birds-eye maple veneer on the limbs.

My TUKTU recurve from CARIBOW ARCHERY has Cocobolo riser with red elm limbs and its going to be the “NICEST”of them all!

Good tip about cooking oil. I didn’t know that. Its a beautiful wood. I bet that birds eye maple limbs look freaking awsome. I like the way that stuff looks anyway more or less on a bow
