Would going from 125 gr broadheads to 145 or 160 gr. heads be possible without making changes to my current set-up?
        I have two recurves one 48# @ 28″,the other 58# @ 28″.
My draw length is 27″ and I plan on using footed wood arrows for both.
I already have the arrows for the lighter bow that are cut 28″ really can’t shorten them anymore. Question is, does that change make much difference ? When I ordered the custom arrows the supplier asked a lot of different questions re: weight, cut past centre, etc. He did not ask about head weight?
        Happy Holidays !! Bruce

Nothing like trying it out to see if it will work…

You can take a piece of 12 gauge copper electric wire and wrap it around the end of your field point to bring it up to 160 grains. Just a few inches will do.

Then shoot it and see what happens.

It MIGHT be possible. Going to a hevier point will require a slightly stiffer spine, about 5 lb when going from a 125 to a 160 gr point. If you are a little stiff to start with you may find the heavier point to shoot a little better. Points are cheap and easy to change, give it a try.
