hmm never heard of that, been shooting carbon arrow since I have started, never happened to me, and I have never heard that before, sounds pretty far fetched, I have done some stupid things before with my carbon arrows too? Never ever had any type of damage with them, I have bows that are over 40 years old to! I could understand where that came from though, back in the day when carbon first arrived on scene, I heard that they were crap, so mabye they were really really light and could have possibly caused a dry fire effect somehow? I would definaly not worry about it!?

A busted arrow from a previous arrow hit while in the target, or a defective arrow. Considering the arrow is in the correct spine group.:) Bend and inspect all your carbons from time to time. Flex them a little (without the broad heads attached of course) If it breaks while testing your cut!

wait are you talking about the arrow shattering, or the bow? My first response was towards the bow!? Either way if you are talking about the arrow, then the fellow above me has it right!!!

Shooting carbon arrows out of trad bows is fine, shooting DAMAGED carbon arrows out of any bow is NOT.
Any arrow that blows up on the bow was most likely damaged previously due to an impact of some sort.
