Can anyone identify this BEAR recurve?

I’ll take a stab at it. Looks like a Kodiak. Peel that moleskin off the sight window and there should be the weight and possibly a serial number written there. A serial number would help to figure out what model and what year it was made.

SnufforNot- I peeled the moleskin and found no markings. I’m surprised to find nothing!

That is odd. My Bear bows have the serial #, AMO, and weight on the riser some where. My grizzly has 50# on the riser and under the leather plate in the sight window. When I did not see it evident on the lower riser in your pics I assumed it would be under that moleskin.

Here is link to an article on dating Bear bows. If the medallion is brass and flush mounted it is pre 1970. To bad the serial number does not appear anywhere.

is it possible that some bowyer made it and put that bear medallion on there? Kinda odd that it has no serial number!? Info like that doesnt wear off, just thinking aloud!

Had that same thought. I noticed the medalion looks kind of out of the normal alignment. You could be onto something.
Or someone may have refinished it and removed all the proofmarks with the old finish.

It’s a newer (since the late 1990’s) Bear model. Specs are the same as the super k, but they used the camo wood. I don’t believe they made them for that long because that’s only the second one I have seen. The first was a used bow in bow shop near my home, and that was at least 6 or 7 years ago. I’m sure someone just tried to refinish it, which is why there is no marks on it. I always thought that camo wood looked pretty cool on it. I have a 1998 Super K, and it’s a great shooter, but a little on the plain side compared to the camo wood.
