Well UPS screwed up one of my recurves that I sent out to Idaho to lion hunt with so I’m using the insurance to buy a new bow.

I’ve always wanted a black widow greybark recurve and found one that is like new at a great price. 60″ and 57lbs. I’m really excited to get my hands on it. I’ve held a few of them at blackbeard island and have always thought they were the best looking bows around and they have a reputation as real shooters too!

I’ll post pictures when she gets to Atlanta.

Well I hate to hear that you lost a good bow to UPS’s screw-up…I guess that is why they have insurance though.

However, you turned a bad situation to your favor. IMHO, you can’t beat a Black Widow. I have a take-down 60″ 56lb recurve in Autumn Oak and I LOVE it. Its the best shooting and best looking bow I own.

Congrats in finding the silver lining in the clouds. You will thoroughly enjoy it. They are real shooters, real lookers and they hold their value extremely well. I can’t wait to see the pictures when she comes in. I love that color scheme.

No. It was a Samick that I had backed with two copperhead skins. Hate to lose it. I had killed a deer and a pig with it this year.

that brings back 10 years old memories of my first traditional hunting bow. A 60″ 57# MA III Autumn Oak BW bought on ebay from a Minnesota archery shop. I wish I didn’t get rid of it. But like many newbies do, I became intolerant of heavy recurves once I switched to longbows the following year. 😀

Great bow, good luck with it!!

Been BHing for 44 years. Had lots of bows most of which were Widows. Just got back from NIXA & brought home a PCHX, Crossgrain Autumn Oak.

Hard to beat a Widow. Hard to beat all the fine people at the Widow Works! They will take care of you. Have a great season with your Widow. May need to take pills to stave off Widow Fever!

I shot one once ,,,,,,,,,ran into a feller at an archery shop/range . We talked bows and tackle for some time . Then he offered to let me shoot his WIDOW . It was a real pleasure . At that time I was shooting a Howatt Hunter . It was no slouch . Beautiful , and full of life it was . But , that Widow was sweet . I didn’t do as well as the feller that owned it , but , I didn’t do too bad . It was one of those ”NEVER FORGET IT ” experiences .

It took me years to get over that.
