        Hey guys,

I was given a Browning Wasp that my father-in-law found in his closet this week. The bow is in great condition, but I do have a question. The bow has some bubbles on the riser, and a couple here and there on the limbs. I do not see stress lines when it is strung (original string), but I am worried that the bow may need some maintenance. Should I worry about this at all? By the way the string, although old, seems to never really been used. Should I worry, or is it a must to get a new string before firing?

        Thanks,

        Andrew

          Hey Andrew,

I’m hoping a bowyer will chime in here. I have a Wasp, which was my first real bow, from about 1973. It’s still in pretty good shape and shoot pretty well. It probably shoots better than I can shoot it. I think it’s about 56 inches and is 45#.

I look forward to reading your replies.

          Good luck with it. dwc
