My wife and I saw the new animated family movie “Brave” today, and I highly recommend it. At the matinee there were plenty of families with kids, but also adult couples and even a few solo adults. We both found it to be a very cute and entertaining flick. Just good fun with no stress and tons of laughs and extremely well made with something for all ages. Aside from the now-famous preview of the archery contest, there is only one other really cool archery scene in there, but with archery scattered throughout. But I still would have enjoyed it even without the strong archery context.
Now, if only I could find a Merida wig for my wife! 😛

I tell you as of late I see just as many adults as kids at the kid movies

I’m with Dave. Took the family and had a blast. That trailer had us hooked. My daughter is five and my son is nine and it’s the kind of thing I want my kids to see. It’s girl power to be sure, but it’s also about people doing the right thing. It’s the figuring it out that makes it fun.
The tournament sequence is excellent, but there’s another that will lift the spirit of anyone who likes stumping.

Cant wait to take my adopted grandson to see it

It was a dandy movie. My three daughters (4, 6, and 9) loved it. The two younger ones share a Bear starter bow, while the 9 year old has a custom kid’s longbow. They shoot with me two to three times a week. Since we saw the movie yesterday all they want to do is shoot their bows. Fine by me!:D

Yes, I have heard that the archery themed movies out have caused many to hit the sporting goods stores looking for archery tackle. They have been asking for bows just like the girl in the movie. This is great as deep connections start early on in life, and last a lifetime. It’s good for archery and bowhunting, I think.

fun movie. Especially loved the scene shooting while riding her horse. It was also great to see a movie where the girl didn’t need some handsome prince to save her, a good moral for our daughters and granddaughters. be who you are and you can do it yourself!!

HEY, THANKS TO A FRIEND WHO WORKS AT PIXAR STUDIOS, I GOT MY MERIDA! COINCIDENTALLY, THIS IS VERY CLOSE TO HOW CAROLINE’S HAIR ALWAYS LOOKED WHEN WE LIVED ON THE OCEAN, ONLY SHE IS A BLONDE. WHEN WE MOVED TO THE ARID SW IT WENT DEAD STRAIGHT. IT’S ALL GOOD FUN, ESPECIALLY AS WE AGE. WE’RE ONLY AS OLD AS WE FEEL AND ACT. 😀

Caroline looks the part!–haha– and appears to be having fun ! Is that her shrew?
