Did you check with 3rivers archery — I know they have them for some aluminum arrows?

I called and the closest I could get was for 2016″s.

If they or Kustom King don’t have it — probably not easily store bought. I know some of the members have built their own footing Al w/ carbon etc – maybe one will chime in.

with my own limited experience in efoc I had to go up in spine to tune properly. As you proceed you may end up with a shaft that allows the Brass inserts?

doe’s anyone know the inside diameter of the 2018’s? I can use the dx inserts(aluminum) and add pdp weights or possibly grizzly stick weights.Quick question the further the weights are back will they diminish the foc?

You could get a short piece of thread rod, that matches the arrow head thread (I forget what it is) and insert that into the insert for the 2106’s. Chuck the threadrod into a drill press chuck, and sand them lightly till they measure .264 or whatever it takes to fit the 2018’s.

Might take a few min each, is all. Measure very often!!!!

                        Skinner,

If you want to get some inserts for arrows like 2117’s or similar, and send them to me I can turn them down for ya, to fit the 2018’s. I have 2018’s on hand and have made my own for them from steel.

They will weigh slightly less, than new but less than 10gr difference I venture.

No charge, by the way. Just glad to help.

                          Hi folks.

I’ve been lurking for a bit, and I’m sorry if this a bit of a hijack, but is there any chance some of you shooting with 2018s could share the set-up specs you’re using? I just got my Wes Wallace 48LBS 66″ longbow with a 28″ draw delivered yesterday and am looking to get my usual 2018 Legacy arrows tuned up to at least 650 grains. If need be, I’m also open to adjusting shaft diameter to hit my weight target, since hunting season is already underway in Southern California, though I’m not really interested right now in swapping aluminum shafts for carbon.

Skinner, as for brass inserts, digging through a few Google searches gave me a great list for years of heartache from hunters asking your same question. I think I’d be inclined to deeply consider taking up handirifle’s offer for turning down a larger insert.

For your arrows, I made my own steel inserts so am not sure whats available comercially. It was pretty easy to hit your target weight, with steel inserts and a 180gr head.

I would get the heaviest insert you can (or have me modify some) and the field point that will get the total weight where you want it and start with full length arrows for bare shaft tuning.

By the way my little $15 Harbor Freight cut off saw does an amazing job with any type arrow shaft, wood, alum or carbon. Sure makes tuning at home a breeze.
