I don’t want to hijack the other brace Height thread….

Just changed strings from the original that came from the factory, Samich Sage 55lbs. Went to a B50 15 strand from 3Rivers. Instead of using rubber legs as silencers I went to muskrat fur. Set brace at same height, put fur in same locations as I had teh legs, now I have a noticable hum/vibration after teh shot. Adjust brace height or silencers? I’m going to play with the brace this weekend first.

My Sage is braced at about 8 1/4″. It gets noisy if it’s much lower. I use a process for silencer placement where you measure the nock – nock length of the string on the bow, then place one silencer a 1/4 of the length from one nock and a 1/3 of the length from the other. Between that silencer placement and that brace height my Sage is pretty quiet with 10grain per pound arrows.

Let us know how you go 😉

A fastflite string made a world of difference in noise on my Sage.

Jim’s method of string silencers is good. Just remember every bow will probably be a tad different so the placement may vary somewhat.

            Have fun.
