Went down to the river today bowfishing with Steve Graf and his son Liam. It was kind of slow but we all got a shot or two off. We will post some pics later, got to go clean up my gear……

You guys have a good carp recipe or do they make good fertilizer? The only carp recipe I ever heard had to do with baking on a pine plank, throwing away the carp and eating the plank… dwc

I think we all had Warheads. Steve, correct me if you had some other head. I lost my only fish that was hit in the tail due to the head partially unscrewing itself, the barbs flipped up and the fish was off. Note to self: keep those heads tight!

Nice pictures Duncan. I haven’t been on the computer since yesterday so I didn’t get a chance to check this thread out till now. And yes, the tips are Warheads.

I like the Warheads because the barbs are wide and provide a good stop against those mushy carp. This tip is the least prone to pull through of the tips I’ve tried…

First trip of the year spent with a First Rate Guy. Thanks to this website, Duncan and I got to meet. I am sure we will have many adventures in the future. And the carp got to suffer a little in the bargain.

As for what to do with carp – they are so toxic with heavy metals and persistent cancer causing chemicals that even using them for fertilizer is not a good idea. Back in the drink they go to become part of the chemical mat at the bottom of Davie Jones’ Locker.

It was great meeting Steve and Liam and spending a day on the river in search of carp. The water temp was maybe a little low so the fish were hanging closer to the bottom but we did catch a few near the bank where we could see them. We also enjoyed seeing all the wildlife along the river, Blue Herons, Red wing Blackbirds, a Coot, a juvenile Bald Eagle, an Osprey, and an American Redstart (for those who are into birds)at the end of our trip. At one point a bunch of small butterflies descended and hung out on the boat which was cool.
