Now I’ve been bowfishing for a couple years now . . . I’ve killed my share of carp, but yesterday I shot something a little different!
A buddy and I were sittin on this piled up brush at the bottom of a bridge waitin for the fish to come out from underneath when I walked over to one of the pylons of the bridge . . . to my surprise I saw this guy swimmin right down at my feet . . . I drew back and let the fiberglass fly, and came up with this:)
Always thought it would be cool to shoot a catfish . . . I would much rather directly eat what I shoot than indirectly like I “eat” carp(using them as fertilizer and eating the vegetables they grow)

Cats are my favorite freshwater eating fish. If it were possible to regularly take them with archery gear I’d buy a bow reel tomorrow. Good going.

Good shot and great eats!!!

Good job Chris!
The cats I’ve seen moving around looking for forage seem constantly in motion. You did good to hit a fish that moves like they do.
Carp seem to move alot slower while feeding making them a little easier to hit.
Catfish is definitely worth greasing the pan!

Nice Catch, Chris!
Of the warm water species of fish, catfish is my favorite too.
What do you guys do with the carp? Fertilizer? Maybe if I were a starvin’ pilgrim I’d eat one! Otherwise.. cook with a splash of wine till done, then throw the frying pan and fish in the garbage. Indulge in finishing the bottle of wine!:D
