I started trad two winters ago and started with an early 1960’s Damon Howatt Monterey. The monterey is basically a howatt hunter made of rosewood. I know howatt was bought out by Martin years ago, but was wondering if anybody knows if I can track down any info on this bow by the serial number. Is there somebody I can call or email? I would love to learn the history of this thing. Basically what year it was made and where it was sold. I doubt it’s possible but would love to if I could. Thanks for any help.
Sorry, but I don’t have an answer for you. Only the same or similar question. I have an older X-200 stamped with Martin archery emblem but on the side is hand painted “By Howatt”.
So I’m a little confused about who actually built this bow.
