I have a cherrywood bow blank that is backed with hickory. It has a few splinters on the backing that don’t seem to affect the integrity of the bow. I would like to back it with something for appearance sake. Where can I get Linen or some other material and how do I apply it. After finish? I want to use Tru Oil for a finish. HELP!

I have backed selfbows with cotton cloth and it turned out really nice. I had some Trebark camo cloth that was about the same weight as ordinary cotton khaki pants. Got an old pair of khakis? cut some strips from the legs and glue them on with wood glue. I used good old Elmers wood glue and have also used Titebond. I finish mine with polyurethane but I’m sure True Oil will work just fine.
