Think about camping among wolves and moose while you scour the woods for a deer or bear you’re very unlikely to find and try to kill it with a trad bow. Think about going to sleep with more stars overhead than you might have ever imagined possible. Think about doing this in the company of people who share your appreciation for solitude and quiet pursuits. Then get back to me here if you want to be part of this adventure or have any questions. (The dates are approximate at this point and subject to change, to accommodate the participants’ schedules.)

Here are some appetizers to whet your enthusiasm:

Charles, that’s an adventure I’ve thought about. I can’t make it this year, but that would be fun! One day.

It might become a tradition to be repeated. Or not, if the hunt members mutiny at the possible paucity of deer in the area …

Now this is a trip I could get behind! Sounds like a hell of a time.

Did you guys ever materialize this?

We did and two of us have done it a couple more times as well. The feared paucity of deer materialized on the first trip, and we have concentrated since then on bear.

No deer or bear have been harmed – yet. The pandemic got in the way a couple of times. We’ve been chased out twice by October winds.

                    It is addictive.
