I was thinking of using my son’s 30# golden bear for blind bale practice.Would I get the same benefits as using my hunting bow?

I’m sure there are ‘opinions’ on that, but the only way to know is to try.
Some say it’s way harder to get a clean release with low weight bows… so would that also suggest a clean follow thru with the draw hand to “conclusion?”
In Masters of Bare Bow 3, he introduced that strap and string gizmo that told you if you were maintaining back tension. With that light a bow, I’d be curious if you would, after transitioning, have the muscle tone to hold your heavier draw hunting bow, or use it to slowly build those muscles and feel everything as it would be in a hunting shot…and burn it into muscle memory?
All speculation. Try both ways and see what feels like you’re getting the most honest workout! ? 8)

Using a low poundage bow to get your form right is a good idea. You can shoot a lot more without becoming fatigued, and you can really get a better feel for what to do when you release.
The one disadvantage is that your son’s bow is probably different from your bow. So how the subtleties of hand placement on the grip and how the string feels in your hand will change.
But you can really work on the big stuff, like keeping your bow arm fixed until the arrow hits the target, no peeking, clean release, back tension.
I say go for it, if your son doesn’t mind…

Audrey says it is the other way around….
8) Gads, man…how do you survive ganged up on like that with two wimmens?
You got a male dog or cat or sumpin…?
LIkely not with Fred the Mouse, Stinky skunk the female skunk and whatever other menagerie you’ve posted around… (not sure how you picked FRED for a mouse’s name, but I’m betting nobody checked gender!–just guessin!)
Good luck, Hoss!

Your right it is a terrible life, and nobody checked Fred. The skunk on the other hand showed up last year with 4 kids.
Good to make you smile, Grumpy…
Showing up with four kit skunks is pretty foolproof gender statement… but I was speculating on “Fred” (whom I didn’t know from adam, but you shared the litany and I already forget the 3rd one of the crew… 😯
