Anyone done any, have any good pics, stories or tips? I’m possibly doing a hunt here in Kodiak this fall. It’s a non fenced hunt, private owned. Guy asked my if I would split the cost, told him if I get to take it with my bow. He wants the meat but not the cape so I may do it.

Sounds awesome! I am interested in some stories/tips as well.

I love the fact that the bison was native to this land and I am always drawn to stories about them. I would love to hunt them one day. They are mighty tasty! 8)

There was an article a couple years ago about a guy who killed one with traditional archery tackle. I can’t remember if it was in TBM or Primitive Archer Magazine. Maybe someone else will know.

I would love to read it! Anyone have a link?

TBM published several articles about buffalo/bison. There was one in particular about Farewell, Alaska; Aug/Sep 01 Bison Bows and Arrows by Brad Adams.

Others are about Pink Mountain in British Columbia (Oct/Nov 01) and several hunts in Utah. I avoided the ones related to Africa, Australia, etc.

I’m not sure if this jpg will show up well. All of these issues were before we got the digital thing going, but they are available in print through our shopping cart. If someone has the issues and the ability to scan them, feel free to post the article here. I’m not where I can do that easily.

                (Don’t tell anyone…I’m on vacation) 😉
