I don’t want to get into the whole “politically correct” thing, I and certainly don’t want to jeopardize your MO-JO. I understand that you don’t mean anything by it, but it always strikes me as being excluded from the conversation.:?
Back to the topic at hand. Did you see the picture going around the internet of the 1800 pound hogzilla? Don’t know if it is real or not. It reminds me of the postcards with the potato on a semi truck.

ROBIN,
Please don,t ever feel exluded from any thread I start because I use the Opening “MEN” I guess I should tell you guys Why I do that. When I was but a wee lad at the age of 18 I found Myself in combat during my tour of duty in the U.S. Army, And my platoon sgt, a decorated Viet-nam vet always started out his briefings or de-briefings by saying “MEN”! we all kinda got a chuckle out of it and we all started doing it around one another, and when I call one of my ole Army buddys the first thing we say to each other is “MEN” in honor of 1st Sgt Rodney Kennedy, we loved that guy !
So Robin just chime in its my way of saying everyone is one of the guys ! 8)

I did my graduate research on feral hogs in central Mississippi. There’s plenty of public and private land hog hunting opportunities down south. It just depends on where you want to go.

Texas has some big boar. Not pure “Russian” but more of an American-Russian hybrid. Still, i’ve seen some up to 400 pounds here close to the border. Some of the ranches i’ve seen have packs up to 20 strong
-
That would be here in Texas of course. Its a fact there is land owners who have hogs and one soon to have hogs. There are ranches here who are close to putting bountys on them for the devastation they leave behind. There are lots of state land as well to hunt just contact state wildlife dept. Then their are your local ranches mostly in the central to east and southern part of state who would appreciate the help. If you are willing to coe down get a group together.

Oklahoma is starting to have some pretty serious problems with the pigs taking over..mostly hybrids rather than the pure Russians. They use to be mainly in the southeast, but can now be found throughout the eastern half, both on private and public land. The problem with pigs this time of year (unless you’ve got your own place) is locating them. They move around a lot and can be hard to pattern on public land. I think your best bet would be to locate a decent guide. I can’t point you to anyone in particular as I’ve only been on public land.
