I figured somebody would start this thread after the tip-o-the-week came out… Thanks Mike.
I’ve not had the pleasure of meeting anyone associated with the magazine, but it does contributes to my life. So I feel I kind of know the folks that work so hard on it.
Most of us have been touched by cancer in one way or another. And so I send my sincere good vibes to Larry and his family. I’ll be thinking about you. Just keep moving, even when you don’t want to!
-
I will do that, Mike. It means a lot to both Larry and Belinda to have good wishes and messages of support during this ordeal. Larry does pop in here from time to time, too.
For those who don’t know, Larry Fischer (Co-owner and Advertisement Manager) was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He’s a fighter, and you can read about his story by clicking this link to Larry Fischer vs. The Bastard. Please keep, Larry, Belinda and their family in your prayers and we’ll keep you posted on his progress. Chemo starts tomorrow, therefore, round one of this fight is upon us.
-
I’ve spent just enough time around Larry to know that the Big C is barking up the wrong tree, and about to get served a big ‘ol can of whup-ass.
Smoke and prayers to the entire Fischer clan – my dad beat it 7 years ago, and you will too, Larry.
-
I’ll keep the entire family in my prayers.
-
A friend of our was diagnosed with the same thing and it was in a late stage, but she got good help and was able to beat it. She’s back at work now and doing well. I wish you all the best with this courageous fight. My heart is with you. dwc

Positive and confident vibes are already headed in Larry’s and Belinda’s direction all the way from Statesboro, Georgia.

Best wishes and prayers sent for Larry and his family….My wife is a survivor of uterine cancer,so I know a little about what you all are going through. I read your updates and hope all went well with your first chemo session.
It just so happens the knocks for this years hunting arrows are “purple”,so I’ll think about you whenever I knock one,Larry.
God speed! Wayne

Prayers and well wishes for Larry and family from this side of the creek.
-
God Bless the entire family, immediate, extended and here at TradBow…
Got a chance to chat a bit at Denton. Wonderful folks….my mom – leukemia, wife – bone, cousin – breast (and the list, unfortunately not done there) all LIVING proof that the no good SOB bastard CAN AND DOES GET BEAT – Regularly 😈
Pray and smile and you’ll get through Larry and Belinda. We’ll all be doing the same for you. :D:D:D

My sister has breast cancer so I’ll just have to double down on the prayers. Positive thoughts and prayers coming your way Larry and family! Going to find my purple shirt.
-
Prayers lifted. Any new developments? I know things can change rapidly with this type of cancer. It got my mom seven years ago.
-
Larry sent out an update today.
-
Looking west towards Thatcher Pass and an awesome sunset from where I sat …a photo would have been great, but, I could hear something moving my way. Hardly breathing, I watched a big male coyote step out of the salal about 25 yards up wind. The dude looked like he owned the whole mountain. He then picked his way down to where there was a lot of deer sign around a young willow before he dropped down out of view. If I knew how to do it I would send the strength of that magnificent coyote off to Larry and Belinda to help with this ordeal.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts and messages for Larry and Belinda. Larry sent out an update yesterday, which you can read here: Fighting From the Kitchen

Larry’s update yesterday. Please keep him and Belinda in your thoughts as you roam the woods this week.

Thanks, Bruce! I have mine on too, along with every piece of purple clothing I have. We are just waiting to hear the results of today’s CT scan. I’ll let you guys know as soon as I hear anything.
We appreciate all the support!
-
You bet, Robin. As I said before, ‘the bastard’ has no idea who it’s messing with!
-
OK I missed where/how to get the Crush the Bastard bracelet. I’d like to do whatever I can to support Larry.

Duncan – PM me your address, and I’ll get one in the mail to you.
-
The bracelets are being sold by Dave Golden of Golden Specialties. His email address is goldnspec@aol.com.
We also have the TBM goat logo with a purple ribbon on a short sleeved gray t-shirt for $18(US) (Click here to purchase) and a purple ribbon with an arrowhead pin (Click here to purchase).
Some of this stuff was a surprise for Larry, so we didn’t put a big announcement out there. Now he knows, but it’s still not too late to show your support. It really does mean the world to both Larry and Belinda.

Excellent news late last night! Four and Out!
Larry is scheduled for surgery this Friday, and The Bastard will be catfish bait! Keep those prayers and positive thoughts coming!
-
That’s great news! May the surgeons scalpel fly straight and true 😉
-
Thanks to everyone for all your support. Friday we jerk the bastard out, and start planning a catfishing trip. Met with my oncologist today and he remarked that I was only the second patient he has had that shrunk a tumor in four chemo sessions. Your prayers worked, please continue to help me through this battle.
Larry

Friday’s surgery did not go as planned. 😥
Short version: They went in, couldn’t get it out, grabbed Larry’s gall bladder, and closed him up. The battle will continue.
Read Belinda’s update at Drawing New Battle Lines.

Pulling for Larry and Belinda in this new part of the attack…It was sad that things hadn’t gone as planned and makes me pull for them even that much more,Web Mom.
Prayer is the only thing for me to try and make a difference now that the battle continues. May God bless you and yours,Larry Fischer! God speed!!
Sincerely yours,
Wayne Barcalow
P.S. Got those purple knocks on my hunting arrows with me every hunt,Larry. Won’t forget you during the hunt!
