Looking for your opinions on the best take down recurves on the market for 350.00 or less. I want a take down because of storage purposes and traveling. Primarily for survival purposes. It will spend 99.999% of the time stored away in the ‘gear pile’. But when I do pull it out, I want to know I can count on it.

        Any feedback is appreciated…

I was wondering if an all fiberglass bow like the PSE Kingfisher would be more durable for this purpose than wood ?

I’m not sure that it is the “Best” takedown bow, however the Samick Red Stag takedown is available on E-Bay for about $200, and is a good bow for the price. ( I have 2 of them.)

Ive read a few good things about Samick… I’ll check it out. Thanks for the recommendation. How long have you been shooting it ?

Good looking bow… The PSE mustang looks nice too. Hopefully someone will chime in with some info on it as well

I’ve been shooting the Samicks about 3 years now. they are good bows at a reasonable price. They are on a par with the numerous Bear hunter models that I have.

It will be tough to beat the value of a Samick bow. I have the one piece Volcano and love it. If the workmanship of the take down models is anything like my one piece then you will not be disapointed for the money spent.

I have a Hoyt Huntmaster TD which is no longer produced but I think the Gamemaster is a similar TD model. My Huntmaster was under 300.00 but don’t know how much the Gamemaster costs. My Hoyt is a great shooter too.

Of course another option would be to keep looking through classifieds and other online sale sites for a nicer model at the right price.
