Well, I haven’t showered for a week now and 2 days left to hunt. Here in northern Wi. I saw a Booner class buck on Sat. and had 3 bucks converge on a hot doe yesterday afternoon. One was a very large 10 I got to 1/2 draw in twice but could not seal the deal. That big boy hung around for an hr anyway. Am all snuggled in my tree and hoping for a repeat! Good luck to all!

Well Paleo, if you don’t shower through an entire deer season, then your name is Skunk, which leads to being Skunked.:D

Just returned from a bow hunt in Nebraska a couple of weeks ago. Someone brought a heated shower system to use in camp, and was that thing every neat! Everyone was going to browse the catalogs when they returned home for one of those.
As far as your hunt, keep at it. I am in southern WI and the deer have slowed some, but I think mostly due to the weather. It had been warm & very windy. The coming cold snap with a decrease in wind speed should get things rolling again. Good Luck

Paleo(And still I wonder, why not Neo) —
Absolutely, if you have a day an hour a minute of season left, stay out there. This year it took me seven weeks to kill a cow elk, when my long-term average is three weeks and usually a bull. I just kept telling myself “Old man, you have a far better chance of getting a shot op when you’re out here in the woods, no matter that game seems nonexistant, than you do sitting in the house.” Tenacity is the name of the game.
Seriously on the problems of keeping the human stench down while camped away from warm water sources, check out the “towels” now available from most of the anti-stink chemical pervayors like Dead Downwind. Some are big enough to cut in half and use twice, and they work. It’s the only chemical anti-stink product I believe in (save of course for scentless detergents and soaps). Those darned whitetails are just the toughest, most beautiful game animals in the world. If they made it easy on us, why bother? 😀

Hell yes, man!! I’ve gotten in 4 or 5 hunts a week for about the last 3 weeks and I’m havin’ the time of my life! I’ve even made a little meat out of the deal. 🙂
