Well, I’m getting old you know. Can’t backpack as easily at high altitudes as I used to. So I figured what the heck, I might as well listen to what Detroit and Japan have been telling us in outdoor magazines and Outhouse Channel advertisements for decades: “You can’t hunt elk without an ATV!” And why not go all the way. Here’s my new rig: maximum comforts in a go-anywhere package. All that’s left to get it ready for next Sept. is to hang a bulldozer blade on the front to widen all those narrow ATV trails and bring them into step with the future of hunting. Eat your hearts out with jealousy!

DP, you must like the taste of blood from biting your tongue while you posted that!!!:roll:
So old people get on yer nerves, eh, pup!? Yust ya wait Enry Iggins, yust ya wait… you’re turn will come.
Getting old(er) ain’t for sissies… but wisdom, cunning and experience will triumph over youth most often…in the long haul!
Too old to fight, so we just KILL!

Ahhh…all us named Dave must be older’n dirt. I think I was born when Moby Dick was a minnow!
Going in for hernia surgery Thursday AM at some ungodly hour of the AM… (for me being retired) so we’ll see how that goes living alone.
I’m feeling officially ‘old’ right about now!
Don’t have and can’t afford an ATV, but while I’m sure Dave P has a ton of honest experiences to support his angst over ALL of EM… I can sometimes see their place if used responsibly!
Of course, not that ugly monstrosity he posted up… LOL:D

GROAN… What’s really funny if I had a pic, R2, is t hat at the harrisburg Sports and Outdoor show a couple years back, a group that catered to disabled Vets had Motorized wheel chairs done up like the LR shoes! They had one for sale..used.
My neighbor at 70 lost his leg due to negligence at our local hospital after abdominal surgery for the big C… he wanted one of those with “tracks” in the worst way…
I think DP might give you a pass, R2, since he could likely out pace you on 2 pins with that rig!:lol:

Doc — Is that really you? I rather hope not, but am coming increasingly to accept the sour wisdom of “It is what it is.”
“Too old to fight, so we just KILL!” Now THAT’s more like it! Not re hunting, of course.
Alex–Now we’re talkin’. Leave it to the Swiss to outclass us Yanks every time. If you have a higher resolution of that pic, can you please send my way. And this fall, first time in many years, Pond Spring had water in it, and lots of elk … alas, I discovered this good news too late to do me any good.

NOPE, DP, that “ain’t me” in the pic R2 posted, but it MIGHT be he!
As for the “too old to fight, so just have to kill ya”, my old Recondo Ranger bud who got shot up a long time ago in that jungle war used that line a lot.
As for the hunting part, at my age, it DEPENDS:shock:8)!
