I’ve always rubbed beeswax on my strings, so I just went nuts tonight and rubbed it in on my broadhead edges, knife blade, rubbed up my leather fixed blade sheath and it buffed up nice, just went wild with the stuff:lol: As far as I can the smell factor is minimal and I’m not a complete scent freak anyway. Maybe my boots next? Not sure how well it holds up but a little seems to go a long ways. Anyone else use it and pros or cons?

Where do you get that much beeswax? We don’t have many beekeepers in this part of the world.

Ralph – I bought some beeswax candles on a vist back east. I just cut them up and rub away. If you’ve heard of Yankee Candle Co., they are located in my hometown. They had some in beeswax and I bought a few. My father’s neighbor is a big area beekeeper too. Interestingly, he’s experimenting with a Russian bee species that seems more resistance to the issues bees are facing. Russkie bees, who’d have thunk it!

Thank for info, I’ll look around.

I hope he’s careful with those foreign bees. You know how things tend to go when people start mucking with Mama Nature.

Paleoman; I use bees wax on my snow packs. It comes in the jar called snow-seal. Suppose to be better than oil on leather. Been using it for over 20+ years!

Yankee Candle stinks. You can smell it just driving by on the interstate!! I am alergic to their stink!!

Was using Sno Seal 50 years ago. Good idea to warm it up (and the beeswax) so it is absorbed by the leather.

Get beeswax at farmers markets all over the place.

You can get a fairly large chunk of pure beeswax at Hobby Lobby. It is in the candle making sectio.
