        All,
        I was just given a ~1953 70# Bear Polar; my first longbow! The string that came with it is 60″, but is not usable. To give proper respect to this bow (my friend’s father’s bow), what length/type of string would be recommended?

          A dacron (B50) string, measure the string then order one from an online supplier. Be sure to use a bow stringer.
