<p style=”text-align: right;”>I grew up in New England. The region is crazy with blackies.</p>

I’ve been checking out bear hunting in Minnesota. Talked to some hunters and they say that the northeastern area and east central areas are are good.

Where in the lower 48 were you interested in hunting?

I have only hunted bear in the Southwest- AZ / NM. Mostly spot and stalk , some sitting on waterholes or likely natural feed. Neither of which is an easy hunt and never a sure thing. Although there seem to be a lot more bear out there now than in my youth….With pandemic travel restrictions coming and going ( especially in NM), not sure what will happen in the fall.

Nice picture! Any recommendations on outfitter that’ would cater to a traditional bow hunter

I have to clarify – that pic is not mine. It’s among the reports in that link I posted … and a principal reason for directing my efforts to that location.

Are you perhaps looking for a guide and not a canoe outfitter per se? I know a trad hunter who worked in the past as a bear guide – I’ll ask him for a recommendation. Any of the outfitters would be happy to see some additional business at the end of their season. Many of them have bunkhouses, cabins, etc. as well:

Definitely not interested in a canoe trip. Just a full service outfitter

This is the guiding firm my guy worked for and recommends:
